Rangers have raided Aberdeen to appoint Kevin Bain as their new head physio.

The Light Blues have headhunted the Dons head of medical, who was taken to Pittodrie by Jim Goodwin in 2022. He is seen as one of the top physios in the country with an impressive record of injury prevention. Bain has now joined Philippe Clement’s backroom team, after serving under Goodwin, Barry Robson, Neil Warnock, Peter Leven and Jimmy Thelin at Pittodrie.

He has previously had successful spells at St Mirren and Premiership rivals Ross County. It now means Thelin and the Dons need to find a new head of medical and sports science. The Dons’ search is already at an advanced stage. They hope to make a permanent appointment in the coming weeks, especially coming into an action-packed period of the season. The Dons drew 1-1 with Hearts on Sunday. They have picked up two points from three away games to Hearts, Hibs and St Mirren.

They now face champions Celtic at home on Wednesday. The Hoops are currently four points ahead with a game in hand.
