Jane Moore had a few words to share about her in-camp spat with McFly’s Danny Jones, as she reunited with her Loose Women colleagues for the first time since her jungle adventure.
The 62-year-old was the first person to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last Friday, with voters largely deciding to boot her out after she clashed fiercely with Danny and boxing legend Barry McGuigan. In the jungle, Jane was left stunned when it was announced that she had been assigned to washing up duty again after new camp leaders Danny and Barry had nominated her for the task.
According to the ITV panellist, she had asked Danny not to assign her to washing up before he made any decisions, a conversation that seemed to have slipped his mind, reports the Express.
Barry and Danny spent a considerable amount of time deliberating on which task best suited each individual, trying to formulate a fair and rational plan and ensuring that the women in the camp didn’t have any strenuous tasks to carry out.
After it was announced that she and Tulisa were to be the pot washers for the week, she lost her cool, labelling their choice as “sexist” and “ageist” – given that she is a woman over 60.
Her outburst sparked widespread debate, with Danny and Barry later seemingly being supported by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who believed they had assigned jobs with good intentions and Jane possibly misinterpreting the situation. Jane was back on our TV screens to give her version of events, and she didn’t hold back in defending her actions during her stint in camp.
She explained to fellow panellists Christine Lampard, Judi Love, Brenda Edwards, and Linda Robson on the show: “You may have saw me starting the fire and when you collect the logs, it’s not just collecting the logs, you have to go down 100 steps right down to the bottom of the creek, collect the logs bring them all the way back up the 100 steps and keep the fire going.”
Jane added: “I was emptying the dunny, I was taking out the rubbish, you always have a camp workmate but my camp workmate was Dean.” She shared how Dean’s frequent trials meant he was often absent from camp.
She explained: “Now Dean, poor love, was persistently on trials so he was always out of the camp so I was doing it all on my own so in the first week I was quite physically strong and I was doing it on my energy reserves but by the end of week one, I was completely exhausted, physically and mentally exhausted.”
Discussing the conflict with the camp leaders, she detailed her confrontation, saying: “I then said to Danny ‘can you not give me the washing up’ because you have to go up and down those 100 steps with all the pots and bring back water and that is probably the most physically exhausting job.”
Her post-exit remarks about hard work not being rewarded led to unrest among fans who were unaware of the tribulations she faced while in camp. One viewer took to social media to say: “‘People don’t notice hard work’…we notice t*** though. Bye Jane! #ImaCeleb #imacelebrity2024 #ImACelebity.” (sic)
Another shared a similar view, writing: “‘People don’t notice hard work’ ngl I’m not voting for people to stay for doing chores, Jane #ImaCeleb,” as a third fan expressed their frustration with an animated GIF and the words: “The rest of the campmates hearing Jane still complaining on her way out #ImACeleb.” (sic)
