Loose Women star Jane Moore has been branded “cruel” and “lazy” by former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Kim Woodburn over what has been dubbed ‘washing-up gate’.
Ahead of being the first celebrity to be voted out of the jungle, Jane claimed Barry McGuigan and Danny Jones’ decision to put her on washing-up duties was “sexist and ageist”.
After the pair tried to reassure her that this wasn’t the case, the 62-year-old said she was joking about her response, although admitted it was the one chore she didn’t want to do.
Reflecting on the moment, Kim, 82, slammed Jane for making such a comment and said it was “cruel” towards Barry.
“At that time, she hadn’t done one trial [when] she was given those dishes, so she’s done very well [for] nearly two weeks,” Kim claimed.
“And to say [‘sexist’] to Barry the boxer, who you know is such a quiet man, I thought Oh Jane, that man hasn’t got a sexist bone in his body, come on!
“You could see he was getting hurt, he’s a bit touchy.”
Speaking further about Jane’s apparent reluctance to take on the role, Kim added in association with WhichBingo: “Sitting on your backside not doing a dish, who do you think you are? Who they hell do you think you are?
“Please, If I had two minutes with her, I’d wipe the damn floor with her.”
Kim went on to say that if she was paid the right amount of money, she would happily go back into the jungle and spice things up as she believes the current series is lacking drama.
On what she’d like to say to Jane if she was still in the jungle, she added: “[Barry] wouldn’t harm a fly, he’s a gentle chappy, that was cruel.
“If I had been in there I would’ve said, ‘Listen you, you haven’t even done a trial, why shouldn’t you do the dishes? Lazy a**e’. I would’ve said that to her.”
Additionally, Kim, who famously had a row with some of the Loose Women panel following her feud with Coleen Nolan, has also hit out at Jane’s fellow Loose Women star Ruth Langsford.
The ex campmate claimed booking Ruth as a guest for the show’s spin-off was “a waste of money” and slammed producers for supposedly cancelling her to speak on it, in favour of Gillian McKeith.
Speaking about the washing-up dilemma following her exit, Jane has explained that she had mucked into various hard roles in camp that had left her “exhausted”, so therefore didn’t want to be given a cleaning job.
Addressing her comments to camp leaders Barry and Danny, she also told The Sun: “I was 100 per cent winding them up and teasing them.
“Danny got it straight away. Barry… I think he thought I was serious, and I very quickly said to him, ‘Barry, I’m winding you up. Don’t worry about it’.”
