Performers at the Big Top earned high praise as Judy Murray visited a matinee performance of Kilmarnock’s pantomime.

Judy watched on from the audience on Sunday, December 1 as Goldilocks and the Three Bears continued its run at the unique circus tent venue at the Ayrshire Athletic Arena.

It was a festive treat for the mother of tennis aces Andy and Jamie Murray who took to social media after the show to praise the performance.

Judy, who joined cast and crew onstage for photos, said: “Good old fashioned fun on a wet, windy afternoon. Oh yes it was.”

Gary Morrison, who stars in the show as Donald Dundonald, also posted on social media and said: “We had the lovely Judy Murray and her pal Laura in for yesterday’s matinee. They both had a great time.”

Also starring Andrew Agnew as Dame Dolly Dundonald, James McAnerney as Roger von Riccarton and Craig McDougall as Scott the Ringmaster, Goldilocks and the Three Bears is running until Sunday, December 29.

Renovations at the Palace Theatre have meant East Ayrshire Leisure have had to put on the annual pantomime at the Big Top for 2024.

Ailsa Erskine, Benjamin Dawson, Rebecca Donnelly, Caitlin Mae and Kieran McIntosh all feature in the show which is produced by Imagine Theatre.

Ukrainian circus act Mumladze have also joined the cast for the show in the fully-heated, purpose-built Big Top at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena.
