HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — A large amount of methamphetamine was seized Tuesday, Nov. 26, during a traffic stop in Huntington.
Members of the Huntington Violent Crime/Drug Task Force stopped a vehicle as part of drug interdiction operations and took Robert Earl Cureton Jr. into custody for active federal warrants for distribution of fentanyl and distribution of methamphetamine.
During Cureton’s arrest, Task Force members found a suitcase in his vehicle, according to the Huntington Police Department.
The suitcase contained 11.2 pounds of methamphetamine, which has an approximate street value of $50,800, investigators said.
The Huntington Police Department said the arrest and seizure were part of an ongoing investigation into a drug-trafficking organization based in Detroit that has been operating in the Huntington area.
