Choosing the right perfume can often be difficult, with an overwhelming amount of different options on offer these days.

However, sometimes it can be comforting to revisit an old classic that you wore in your youth. For example, many Amazon users are fondly reminiscing on Avon’s Far Away Eau de Parfum they have been “addicted” to for the last 30 years.

This distinctively floral and amber perfume has been impressing fragrance buffs since it first launched in 1994. Despite a 50ml bottle costing just £15.80 on Amazon, reviews say that it smells “expensive” and “better” than its budget price-tag suggests.

Avon’s Far Away EDP is described as the brand’s “bestselling” perfume and its fresh scent is ideal for those looking for something they can wear everyday. Its scent boasts 190 jasmine petals that give it that “special” touch compared to others on the market.

The “dreamy” fragrance is further deepened with the likes of freesia, peaches, orange flower, Madagascan vanilla, amber and sandalwood. Its staying power has also been praised, with some reviews suggesting that it “lasted longer” than designer perfumes.

Currently averaging a 4.6 rating based on 5,685 reviews, Far Away is currently the highest rated Avon fragrance on Amazon, with praise for its “nostalgic” scent that shoppers are currently rushing out to buy again.

A happy customer said: “This perfume smells SO GOOD. Back in the day that’s all my family purchased was this. It’s old school and saw it on Amazon, and decided to order it. I love this stuff! I don’t care how old it is or when it came out lol, it smells good!”

A second five-star review read: “This smells and looks exactly like it did in the 90s. So nostalgic.”

Another shopper gushed: “I love Far Away, has a oriental, fresh and floral scent that lasts unlike other more expensive high street brands, I wear it as my everyday scent and got a few compliments and asks. I don’t know why I ever stopped using it and it’s very good value for money.”

A fourth added: “I haven’t used this perfume in years and now that I got it I remember why I love it so so much. It smells so sweet and everybody loves it. Wherever I go they always asks about it and they make sweet comments about it.”

Someone else added: “I love this scent for the price you can’t beat it, the scent last all day. Very pretty pleasant scent, don’t take my word buy a bottle, you’ll love it.”

However, not everyone was impressed with the staying power, as one disappointed shopper said: “If I want to smell nice for 10mins or so then I use it, the scent really does not last..such a shame.”
