Ferne McCann has ended her engagement with Lorri Haines, 16 months after the birth of their daughter, Finty.
The 34-year-old former TOWIE star began her romance with the 33-year-old businessman in 2021 following a meeting in Dubai, and they were engaged by July 2022.
Ferne, who also has another daughter, Sunday, from her previous relationship with Arthur Collins, had previously expressed that Lorri was ‘the one’ and looked forward to their life together. However, it seems their plans for a ‘happy ever after’ have been dashed following a significant argument.
It’s understood that Ferne is taking a break from the relationship after the dispute, which reportedly started over ‘nothing’, reports the Mirror.
A source revealed to The Mirror: “Ferne and Lorri have always had a tempestuous relationship but there was one big blow out over something and nothing so she has decided to take some time out.”
They added: “Pals are saying it is permanent but who knows as these two are so up and down. Lorri has been effectively wiped from her Instagram and Ferne is now taking some time for herself and her two kids.”
Despite the couple’s seemingly idyllic relationship on social media, it appears they faced challenges like many others in long-term partnerships. Earlier this year, Ferne disclosed that she and Lorri consulted an intimacy coach when their sex life waned post-baby.
Since the birth of their baby Finty, Ferne McCann and her partner Lorri have been sleeping in separate bedrooms, which has impacted their intimacy. The former TOWIE star previously opened up about this issue, revealing that they sought professional help after going months without being intimate.
Speaking to Heat! magazine, she explained: “It was really insightful. We did lots of different activities that weren’t actually talking about sexual stuff, but it was more communication techniques and exercises that you can transfer into the bedroom.”
She added: “Also, we don’t share a bedroom, and I do think that played a big part in it, because when you’re in a bed together, you’re there and it’s easier. But, like with anything in life, if you want to make something work, you just need to give more attention to it, and make the time.”
However, Ferne was quick to point out that such issues are common among new parents. She said: “I think most parents will agree that when you have a baby, sex goes out the window and it isn’t a priority. When you’ve got kids, fish, dogs and you’re filming a TV show and running a business, the months fly by! It was getting to the point where I was like, ‘We need to do it,’ and it was becoming a bit more of a chore. So, we went to an intimacy coach.”
Ferne has been singing the praises of Lorri, calling him a “hands-on” dad and even suggesting he enjoys solo parenting. She shared: “He’s so hands-on, and he’s an amazing dad. I had a night out with the school mums recently and I think he quite liked having the girls with him just by himself.”
This news comes as Ferne gears up for her Dancing On Ice debut in January, where she’ll be paired with pro skater Brendyn Hatfield.
Excitedly announcing on Instagram, she posted: “The news is in! I’ve met my Dancing On Ice partner and it is……BRENDYN! While he defo has his work cut out (sorry Brendyn!) we’re super excited to hit the ice and bring the sparkle.”
No stranger to reality TV challenges, Ferne previously competed in I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, securing third place. She joins other celebs like TOWIE’s Dan Edgar, Hollyoaks’ Chelsee Healy, and Love Island’s Chris Taylor in the icy contest.
Ferne’s reps have been contacted regarding this update.
