John Torode’s wife, Lisa Faulkner, has finally spoken out but it wasn’t in response to the recent upheaval involving her husband’s MasterChef co-host Gregg Wallace.
Breaking her online silence, Lisa shared an Instagram tribute not about the controversy but remembering her beloved ‘Nanna’, saying: “Happy heavenly birthday Nanna, miss you so much.”
Meanwhile, the storm continues as Wallace, embroiled in allegations of purported inappropriate conduct on the BBC show, has reportedly taken umbrage with both Lisa and John for their lack of public support.
As accusations mount against him, the ex-grocer is said to be seething after unfollowing the couple on social media. Allegedly stung by John’s refusal to comment on the claims laid out by notable figures such as Sir Rod Stewart, Kirsty Wark, Charlotte Crosby, and Ulrika Jonsson, those close to Gregg suggest he feels betrayed, reports the Mirror.
Wallace stands accused by 13 individuals of making sexually charged comments over a span of 17 years—a claim he fervently rejects through a statement made by his legal team. With John opting for silence regarding the scandal, Wallace has dramatically severed his social media connection with both John and his spouse Lisa, following two decades as a MasterChef duo.
An insider revealed: “Gregg is absolutely furious and is convinced he has done nothing wrong. Seeing John keeping quiet amid all of this has irked him hugely.
“Gregg and John have been colleagues for almost two decades and while they aren’t the closest of friends, Gregg feels John could say something.”
“He has deleted them from his Instagram account now and unfollowed both of them. It might seem petty from Gregg but he is furious about how this has all played out,” the source detailed to The Sun.
In an appearance at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Lisa, 52, alleged Gregg repeatedly made ‘rude joke after rude joke’ on the BBC show where she was promoting their new cookbook, John and Lisa’s Kitchen.
The Cutting It actress recounted one particular instance where Gregg allegedly said: “I’m probably not allowed to say this. You’re just sitting there and if you’re on the front bench just chopping away thinking, ‘I’ve got ten minutes left’, and he’s saying, ‘So this girl walked into a bar…’ And I’m going, ‘Please, I don’t want to hear this joke’.”
