The Austin Police Department SWAT Team arrived on scene after concerns about the suspect having access to a machete.
AUSTIN, Texas — A person is in custody after police said he barricaded himself Monday night inside a southeast Austin apartment complex.
The Austin Police Department (APD) SWAT Team arrived around 10 p.m. to the 2500 block of E. Oltorf St. after receiving a call about a man with possible access to a knife resembling a machete.
Once on scene, police said the man initially refused to leave the complex, but he eventually came outside. Other residents were also told to leave during the incident.
APD said the man was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after a “peaceful resolution” was made. No injuries were reported, and the man’s identity has not been shared with the public.
