BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Matoaka Fire Department said in a Facebook post that they will open a warming shelter on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
The Fire Department said they are opening the warming shelter because of the low temperatures and wind chills in their area. The shelter will open at 6 p.m., and the Fire Department said soup will be provided.
People who need a place to warm up for a few hours can stop by, and the Fire Department said to use the side door.
The Fire Department also said they are watching the weather and for people to watch for additional days for the warming shelter.
