Harrowing video obtained by the Daily News of the last moments of UnitedHeathcare CEO Brian Thompson’s life provides new insight into the targeted killing Wednesday — and the abject coolness the shooter displayed.
Surveillance video of the 6:45 a.m. shooting shows Thompson, wearing a blue blazer, briskly walking down Sixth Ave. near W. 54th St. on his way to the Hilton hotel when the gunman steps up behind him with what appears to be a pistol with a silencer.
Police have called the shooting a targeted attack and the video appears to support that. The gunman fires one round,. His gun then aims, but the gunman calmly clears the chamber before firing at least two more times, the video shows.
The gunman walks past the victim before darting between two parked cars and running off. The entire shooting took place as cars zipped up and down the avenue.
The gunman was last seen zipping away on a Citi Bike toward Central Park.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for information about the shooter.
Anyone with information regarding the shooter’s whereabouts is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
