Defending champion Mark Allen will be aiming to defend his crown as the eagerly-anticipated Snooker Shoot Out gets underway this week.

The breathless event featuring a single-frame, shot-clock format has become a firm fan favourite and offers fast-paced action unlike anything else on the snooker calendar. It’s snooker with a party atmosphere as fans prepare to make plenty of noise in Leicester over the next four days.

A total of 128 players will compete in the speed-focused competition as a mix of top professionals and up-and-coming talent compete for the £50,000 winner’s prize. Here, Record Sport tells you everything you need to know ahead of the pulsating tournament.
