Prince George may be in line for the throne, but at home he’s just an ordinary 11-year-old lad who has his fair share of household chores.

Alongside school, video games and sports, Prince William and Kate Middleton ensure their three kids, George, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, still have responsibilities in an effort to prove a ‘normal life’ for the royal trio.

The family’s move to Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Castle estate was also part of this plan. Since moving into their cosy cottage, the family have chosen not to have live-in staff, with William and Kate encouraging their kids to help out with chores, including cleaning and cooking, OK! reports.

Each royal child reportedly has their own task to complete, something that Kate herself was used to growing up. As reported by the New York Post, royal expert Hilary Fordwich revealed: “She (Kate) was always used to chores. Her parents were busy building their Party Pieces business that her mother Carole Middleton founded.

“Young Kate was instrumental in developing party supplies specifically for babies and young children, so she knows the power of active, engaged children who learn responsibilities. Prince George is currently assigned to clean out their pet guinea pig’s cage.”

Royal commentator Katie Nicholl has dished out details on the domestic life of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. She revealed: “They absolutely do menial tasks. They are far more ordinary than many might imagine – the kids even have to do chores in return for their pocket money.”

Nicholl further commented: “It’s about them wanting to have a normal, happy, ordinary family home and lifestyle which, at Adelaide Cottage, they are really achieving.”

Despite their royal status and responsibilities, the young princes and princess still carve out time for leisure activities post-school, engaging in everything from trampoline sessions to baking with their mother, Kate, and rooting for their top sports teams.
