A festive-flavoured wrestling event will feature a variety of ho-ho-holds and jingle bells readying great grapplers for action.
Pro Wrestling Scotland (PWS) is bringing its “biggest show of the year” to the Knights of St Columba in Moodiesburn on December 13.
And as well as a night of first-class fighters butting heads in the squared circle, Santa Claus himself will be on hand with a big bearhug full of Christmas spirit.
PWS started up just before the Covid pandemic began and has gone from strength to strength.
The guys and girls of the organisation have faced off in Newmains twice this year, as well as Viewpark in September, and are set to return to Lanarkshire with a bang.
Ryan Gordon, originally from Airdrie and now living in Coatbridge, performs for PWS as manager RPG, and it was his idea to give the upcoming card a festive feel.
Ryan told Lanarkshire Live: “The event in Moodiesburn on December 13 will be our biggest show of the year.
“We are a family-friendly company and as it is so close to Christmas, and I have a six-year-old daughter, I thought about including Santa in the show, which our owner, Thomas Mackrell, loved.
“We’re planning on Santa appearing and handing out some chocolate and then I will appear as a bad guy to annoy him and the crowd before one of our good guys comes out to put me in my place.
“This will be the first time we have gone down a festive route and I’m sure it will go down well with the families in attendance.”
Santa will be joined on the bill by a PWS Heavyweight Championship match between champion Krieger and challenger Skeikh El Sham and a triple-threat elimination bout pitting “the biggest female wrestling star in Scotland” Angel Hayze against Lizzy Evo and Harley Hudson.
Ryan added: “PWS has really come into its own this year, putting on several brilliant shows, but we are always looking to capture the attention of new eyes.
“Our upcoming show is crammed with some outstanding wrestling talent who will be out to put on fantastic matches everyone on hand will never forget.”
Ryan and the rest of the PWS crew are also keen to welcome the next generation of grappling talent to their training school in Airdrie.
He explained: “We train in Airdrie once a week and are currently based in Rawyards Sports Centre, at 1pm every Saturday.
“We are looking for the stars of tomorrow and have a recommended age limit of 12-plus.
“The first training session is free and then each session costs £10.”
Doors open for the PWS show in Moodiesburn on December 13 at 7pm, with the action starting at 7.30pm and expected to finish at around 10pm.
Tickets cost £18 for the front row, £14 for adults and £10 for under-14s and are available online.
