RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. – The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office said a man is in custody after officers responded to a report of a man brandishing a firearm in Beaver.

According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at around 12:40 p.m. on Dec. 4 when the report came in of a man brandishing a firearm at a construction crew at the intersection of Violet Lane and Ritter Drive in Beaver. When officers arrived, the Sheriff’s Office said the man pointed the firearm at a deputy and the deputy fired at the man.

The man wasn’t injured, and was taken into custody, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office identified the man as 39-year-old Ricky Lee Campbell, and Campbell was charged with Wanton Endangerment and Felon in Possession of a firearm.

Campbell is being taken to SRJ pending a $100,000 bond.
