An investigation is underway after a man died in a single-car crash on a Scots road this afternoon. The incident took place in Carntyne Road, Glasgow.
His green Vauzhall Insignia crashed on the street at around 12.35pm. The emergency services were called to attend and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland said the 59-year-old’s family has been informed of his death. Nobody else was injured in the incident, and an investigation is now ongoing.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time. We will continue to support them throughout the investigation.
“We would like to thank the members of the public who stopped to help before emergency services arrived. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in this area around that time and who may have dashcam footage which could assist us to contact us.”
