Tulisa Contostavlos missed Melvin’s I’m A Celebrity friends and family reunion at their hotel as the mystery about her whereabouts deepens.
The N-Dubz singer failed to show up on spin-off show Unpacked earlier and now it’s been reported that she didn’t show up for the daily gathering in the foyer of the JW Marriott Hotel, on the Gold Coast. The reunion is filmed by ITV and attended by evicted celebs and their family members.
It’s believed there is “no bad blood” between Tulisa, ITV, or her campmates. A source told the Mirror the situation around Tulisa’s whereabouts would become clear soon. Evicted campmates Jane Moore and Dean McCullough were pictured greeting Melvin after he became the fourth person to leave the Jungle.
Tulisa’s two friends who flew into the jungle to support her were also absent from the reunion. Tulisa had previously said how Melvin was part of her “soul family”. It comes after Tulisa promptly deleted all references to the programme on her social media channels in the wake of being voted off the show on Monday night.
She was expected to be on the spin-off show the following day. But addressing the cameras, Joel revealed: “Unfortunately we don’t have Tulisa on the show today.” A show source later told the Mirror her absence was due to “personal reasons”. The evicted celebs are expected to remain at the hotel until the wrap party the following Monday evening. They fly home on the Tuesday.
They take part in filming commitments at the hotel, while getting all their expenses and accommodation taken care of by ITV. Tulisa’s absence comes after she didn’t do any press interviews, other than a Lorraine chat, which contractually she has to do. On the show Tulisa opened up about being celibate for three year and also came out as demisexual.
Joel’s comments about Tulisa’s absence sparked a frenzy of speculation on social media – with many questioning where the N-Dubz icon was. One wrote on X: “Where’s Tulisa? Exclusive interview elsewhere? #ImaCeleb #unpacked.”
Ant and Dec also refused to address questions as to Tulisa’s absence on their daily jungle club show on Instagram. Dozens of viewers sent questions about Tulisa into the pair in the hope they would answer, but they chose to ignore them.
