Dumfries Lions Club members have done a tree-mendous job spreading bundles of festive cheer.
Last weekend they have braved the December weather to make sure a Christmas institution enjoyed and supported by generations of Doonhamers for more than 35 years was available.
And were delighted to see Dumfries and Galloway families and individuals visit their base, just off the Collin bypass, to buy a Christmas tree which was then netted for them by the volunteers.
As they still have some left they will be back there on Saturday (December 7) from 10am to 3pm, with the public encouraged to go and help them sell out.
Members will now use the cash raised to help others in the community, organisations and individuals where a need is identified. Over the decades it has generated around £200k for local worthy causes.
Now, the Lions are inviting anyone who purchased one of their Christmas trees to send in a photograph of it decorated in its festive finery to the Dumfries Lions Club Facebook page. Voting will take place around the beginning of January with the winner receiving a voucher for a free tree next year.
