Lindsay Lohan has opened up about her enduring bond with Jamie Lee Curtis from their Freaky Friday days as they are set to bring back the magic in the upcoming sequel Freakier Friday, slated for a 2025 release.
The stars have remained “very close” since the first film debuted, according to the now 38-year-old Lohan, who reprises her role as Anna alongside Curtis as Tess. In an interview with The New York Post’s Alexa magazine, Lohan shared: “We’re very close; we were just talking yesterday.”
She recalls the connection they’ve kept since the original, maintaining, “We have this connection since the original, we’ve always stayed friends.”
Reflecting on her time on set with Curtis, she said: “Every day on set was just really exciting for us, and we both felt like teenagers every day. It’s like, ‘Is this real? Are we really having this much fun working?”
Lohan described the joy of revisiting the characters years later, stating, “It’s really fun because you get to play these characters who’ve evolved, to see where they are now.”
The Hollywood star has recently stepped back into the spotlight, after stepping away due to intense media scrutiny. Her comeback trail includes a string of romantic comedies on Netflix such as 2022’s Falling For Christmas, this year’s Irish Wish, and the upcoming holiday movie Our Little Secret.
The actress Lindsay Lohan, who became a mother to her son Luai in 2023 with her financier husband Bader Shammas, has opened up about juggling her career and parenthood for her first project since giving birth. “My son was six months old, and so I was learning for the first time really how to go and work and be on set and come home,” she said.
She cited the convenience of her accommodation being near the filming location, saying, “Where I was staying was really close to where we were filming. So it was pretty much just a normal day job, and I felt so blessed for that.”

Currently residing in Dubai with her family, Lohan expressed her enthusiasm for going all out for her son’s first Christmas. “If he sees dinosaur wrapping paper, he gets excited. So that’s what’s fun for me — wrapping presents and putting up the tree,” she explained.
“And filming every moment of it.”
For Lohan, starting a family has reshuffled her life’s focus: “I’m a mom and a wife first, and then, you know, I have my other stuff.”
The actress continued, “It’s no longer about you, really. For me, everything is about my child and my family and my household, and making sure that my work is in line with what’s going to work for everyone else.”
Reflecting on her career, Lohan is remembered for her defining role in the 1998 hit ‘The Parent Trap‘, where she portrayed estranged twin sisters Hallie Parker and Annie James, garnering critical acclaim. Lohan then starred in seminal noughties films such as ‘Mean Girls’, ‘Herbie Fully Loaded’, and ‘Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen’.
