OAK HILL, W.Va. – The Oak Hill Police Department said a man is dead after shots were fired at an Oak Hill home.
The Oak Hill Police Department said they were responding to a domestic situation on Beech Avenue just after 5 a.m. on Dec. 5. Police say a woman called saying she had been stabbed and was bleeding.
When officers arrived, police say they found a man in the house with what appeared to be a shotgun.
The Oak Hill Police Department said shots were fired, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment of several stab wounds, the Oak Hill Police Department said. Police did not identify the male suspect who was shot, but the Oak Hill Police Department said the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department was handling the investigation into the officer involved shooting.
