Police have recovered more than £10,000 worth of equipment swiped from an industrial property near Stirling in a late night raid.

Officers were called to the unit after the theft occurred sometime overnight on Friday, November 22, into Saturday, November 23.

The thieves took a substantial amount of cabling drums, estimated to be worth approximately £10,000, as well as various tools.

Officers later found the stolen items and say that the bulk of the items taken suggests a vehicle was used and multiple suspects were involved.

Inspector Steven McCooey, from Randolphfield Police Office in Stirling, said: “Following thorough lines of investigation, officers identified a storage location of the items stolen. Officers attended at the property, and following a search, recovered a significant amount of cabling and work items.

“Due to the volume of cabling stolen, it’s suspected that vehicles and a number of persons were involved.

“We receive regular reports of thefts and attempted thefts from building sites and industrial properties, whereby we would encourage owners to be vigilant and report all matters to the police.”
