Flavor Flav says he was booted from the Backstreet Boys’ dressing room at Wednesday’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, adding that his “spirit is broken” by the incident.

The Public Enemy founding member, 65, said that he felt “weird” about the incident, which he described in a since-deleted tweet, reported by Billboard and TMZ.

“I feel weird,,, I was invited to the Rockefeller Tree Lighting tonite and I was escorted to see my boys,,, THE BACKSTREET BOYS,,, and we were backstage in their dressing room,,, security came up to me and says @nbc does not want me in this area and I need to leave,” said the Long Island native, born William Jonathan Drayton, Jr.

Flav said that, even as he was being told to leave, a member of NBC’s social media team approached him “to capture social content.

“What did I ever do to NBC or anyone,,?? All I ever do is try to spread joy and love,,, and I think I did that for NBC at the Olympics,” said Flav, who added in a subsequent post. “I deleted the tweet,,, but my spirit is broken.”

One user on X said the boy band should have spoken up for Flav, which he said “they sure did.”

Hours later, Flav shared a celebratory video of himself in front of the lit 74-foot-tall Norway spruce.

The Daily News has reached out to representatives for NBC and the Backstreet Boys for comment.
