Much of West Dunbartonshire and Argyll and Bute is expected to see heavy rainfall over the weekend as Storm Darragh takes hold.

A Met Office yellow weather warning has been issued and is in place from 3pm on Friday until 12pm on Saturday.

The downpour is expected to bring some transport disruption from late Friday through until Saturday morning.

A Met Office forecaster said: “Storm Darragh moving across the country will bring rain, turning wintry above 300-400m. Rainfall of 20-30mm is expected widely and as much as 50-60mm over the higher ground of the south and southwest.

“As it is falling onto saturated ground may lead to some local flooding and transport disruption.”

Spray and flooding on roads could make journey times longer, bus and train services could be hit and power supplies could also be affected, with localised flooding in some locations.
