Awestruck Scots have been left amazed after watching the Polar Express chuff past their homes.
The festive train passed through Edinburgh on Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, as many amazed families watched on from the comfort of their living rooms.
One amazing video taken by a resident shows the locomotive pass through Gorgie and approach Slateford as it heads out of the capital.
The unique festive train sets off from Edinburgh Waverley station heading across to Glasgow with the magical experience lasting around one to two hours in total, reports Edinburgh Live.
The carriages usually travel along the line from the station and this year, the train was spotted in residential areas much to the delight of locals. Accompanied by a conductor and chef, it’s not an average train journey. The story of The Polar Express comes to life with with live songs from the film before meeting the main man – Santa Claus.
Hot chocolate and cookies are served on the journey before a thud on the roof and the familiar sounds of jingle bells is heard from outside. Santa then boards the train and offer a shiny bell to children and adults.
As the Polar Express Train Ride previously wrote on the website: “We are delighted to announce the return of The Polar Express Train Ride Edinburgh. A thrilling theatrical experience based on the 2004 motion picture The Polar Express awaits families of all ages at Waverley station this Christmas. This is your opportunity to wear your PJs and dressing gowns as you jump on board The Polar Express.
“Ready to go? “ALL ABOARD!” calls the conductor, and the chefs help you on board. As you make your way to your seats, the show is about to begin. The train pulls away from the platform and you’ll be treated to some familiar songs from the film, performed for you by our very talented chefs and maybe even the Conductor himself.
“As we leave the platform before your very eyes, the story of the Polar Express will come to life. Beloved characters from the story including the chefs, Conductor and maybe even the ghost on the train will draw you ever deeper into the story of The Polar Express.”
