Coleen Rooney’s hopes of being crowned the winner of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2024 have been dashed, with bookies revealing she has a slim chance of taking the top spot. The 38 year old mum-of-four was initially a favourite to win, but has been overtaken by fellow campmate Danny Jones.
The McFly star is now the clear frontrunner, with odds of 4/9 to be crowned King of the Jungle. Richard Coles is expected to take third place, with odds of 12/1 to cause an upset.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Danny couldn’t be in a better position, as far as the odds are concerned… with just three names still standing, punters are convinced he’s done enough to see off the chasing pack for this year’s jungle crown.”
Meanwhile, Coleen’s mum Colette has spoken out about her pride in her daughter’s stint in the jungle, saying she’s glad to see her confidence return, reports Plymouth Live. After reuniting with Coleen in the camp, Colette recalled: “As I held her, one of the things she said to me was ‘mum, have I been boring?’
“It broke my heart hearing that but I said, ‘no, you’ve been yourself and that’s all that matters. She is obviously thinking about what people are thinking, but she needn’t worry.
“If she went in shouting and being loud, that wouldn’t be her. We’ve seen the ‘true’ Coleen.”
She went on to say: “She said that she had a headache for the first few days because she was getting no sugar, and must have been detoxing, but then she said how hard it had been.”
Colette also shared her sons Kit and Cass’s excitement at their mum’s return. “They keep asking: ‘Is she here, really? ‘ They kept thinking she was going to jump out from behind a bush any minute,” she revealed.
“We kept telling them ‘five more minutes and you’ll see your mum again’. They just couldn’t wait. It was so lovely.”
