Netflix viewers are raving about a ‘ten out of ten’ action thriller that’s garnering high praise on the streaming service.

The 2009 film, Law Abiding Citizen, features Gerard Butler and is directed by F. Gary Gray, known for his work on Straight Outta Compton and The Italian Job.

Penned by Kurt Wimmer, the director behind sci-fi blockbusters like Equilibrium, UltraViolet, and the 2020 remake of the supernatural horror Children of the Corn, the film centres around Butler’s character, Clyde Shelton. He is unyielding in his quest for vengeance against those who brutally murdered his wife and daughter during a home invasion.

His wrath also extends to the law enforcement officials, including attorney Nick Rice, portrayed by Jamie Foxx, who failed to deliver the justice Clyde so desperately sought, reports the Mirror.

With many fans rating the film a ‘ten out of ten’, social media has been abuzz with recommendations to watch it. One viewer exclaimed: “‘Law Abiding Citizen is a top 10 movie of all time.”

Real cinema,” while a fourth praised it as a “phenomenal movie” that “doesn’t get enough credit”, labelling it “top tier”.

Prepare for another adrenaline-pumping action thriller with the Netflix release of Carry-On, landing on December 13.

The film stars Taron Egerton as Ethan Kopek, a security agent who is coerced by a mysterious voice (Jason Bateman) via an earpiece into an illegal act.

The film’s antagonist blackmails Ethan into smuggling a perilous cargo through airport security aboard a Christmas Eve flight, endangering countless passengers.

The exciting trailer showcases Ethan caught up in a tense game of cat and mouse as he tries to outwit his adversary. Jaume Collet-Serra, the mind behind the directorial work of Carry-On, revealed to the BBC that Die Hard is the movie’s muse: “Everyone wants to make the next Die Hard and the reality is that no one ever will – it’s a perfect movie that can’t be replicated, and also a very specific product of its time.

“But when I read the script for Carry-On, I felt like I had found a more grounded version of Die Hard – which was our North Star for the entire process – for a new generation.”
