Riot police swooped on a Kilmarnock street yesterday in response to a serious incident in the town.
Specialist cops descended on Tourhill Road at around 1.20pm along with emergency service personnel.
Both sides of the road were locked down by officers to deal with the incident, which is being described as a ‘disturbance’ by police officials.
Authorities confirmed last night that a 35-year-old man was arrested and that enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 1.20pm on Saturday, December 7, to a report of a disturbance in the Tourhill Road area of Kilmarnock.
“Emergency services attended and a 35-year-old man was arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
