A teenager has been killed in car crash on a rural Scots road with three others in hospital following the incident on Saturday afternoon.
Around 3.20pm on December 7, officers were called to a report of a crash on the B9001 Inverurie to Rothienorman road, just outside Inverurie, involving a grey Citroen C2 and a white Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
Emergency services attended but the driver of the Citroen, a 19-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware.
The 20-year-old female passenger of the Citroen and the 60-year-old female driver and 64-year-old male passenger of the Range Rover were all rushed to hospital for treatment, where they remain in stable condition.
The road was closed for almost 10 hours as officers carried out an investigation. It was reopened again around 1am on Sunday, December 8.
Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and those involved in the incident. We will continue to support them throughout the investigation.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the crash and who may have dashcam footage which could assist us to contact police.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101, quoting incident 2055 of 7 December, 2024.
