A woman has died after being mauled by a dog in a block of Scots flats.
Emergency services raced to Foresterhill Road in Aberdeen after receiving reports a woman had been seriously injured by a dog at 11.15pm on Saturday. Crews attended but the woman, 41, died at the scene.
The canine has since been destroyed. The dog’s breed is currently unknown. Police say inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “At around 11.15pm on Saturday, December 7, police received a report that a woman had been seriously injured by a dog within a flat on Foresterhill Road, Aberdeen. Emergency services attended but the 41-year-old woman died at the scene.
“Inquiries into the incident are ongoing. The dog has since been euthanised.”
