DALLAS — Dallas will be without one of its top defensive playmakers for the rest of the season.
Jerry Jones confirmed during his weekly interview on 105.3 The Fan that DeMarvion Overshown, 24, will need season-ending surgery on his right knee.
Sources confirmed to WFAA Cowboys Insider Ed Werder that Overshown tore his ACL, MCL and PCL. With the severity of the injury and its timing this late in the season, it is possible Overshown could miss the entire 2025 season, Werder reported on X.
Fellow defender Micah Parsons was emotional talking about Overshown’s injury after the team’s 27-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
“He don’t deserve that either. He really don’t,” Parsons said. “I understand what he’s going to go through and to be there for me physically, mentally. It’s just so challenging. He’s so talented. The year he was having. I really just don’t think that’s fair.”

It’s the second major knee injury in as many seasons for the former Texas standout. He missed all of his rookie year in 2023 after tearing an ACL in his left knee in a preseason game.
Overshown will be the 13th Cowboys player on injured reserve, joining other star players such as quarterback Dak Prescott and guard Zack Martin.
Much of the NFL community and fans have also expressed concerns about Overshown’s future and whether or not he’ll be able to reach his full potential.
The young linebacker took time Tuesday morning to silence the idea of him being another “what if” story in the NFL.
Guarantee I won’t.
