Eighteen teams from all over the Stewartry joined together to take part in their annual quiz.
This year’s quiz masters were Federation vice-president Christine Whipp and Carol Bryden.
There were six rounds on various subjects and after a tie-break finish, Haugh of Urr emerged the winners with Lochrutton runners-up and Rhonehouse in third.
After a super tea of mince pies and shortbread, Lesley Malcolmson presented the prizes.
Carpet bowling competition
The annual carpet bowling competition took place in Castle Douglas Bowlers’ Hall when six team from throughout the Stewartry took part.
Members all enjoyed playing and the lovely tea provided.
Results were: 1 Townhead (7 points and 32 shots; 2 Haugh of Urr 2 (6 points and 30 shots); 3 Carsphairn (6 points and 24 shots).
Stewartry Federation President Mrs Lesley Malcolmson presented the trophy.
