MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. – Dr. Sarah Grose will be principal of the brand new Timberwood Elementary School in Mercer County when it opens next August.

Grose is currently principal of Bluewell Elementary School, which, along with Brushfork Elementary School, will be closed after this school year with students from both schools attending Timberwood.

Timberwood will offer state-of-the-art facilities and resources for its students as both schools will get a fresh start together.

Grose has been principal at Bluewell for 14 years and was previously a Title I teacher at both Straley and Lashmeet Matoaka schools.

“I am truly honored to be selected as the principal of Timberwood Elementary,” Grose said. “It is a privilege to welcome all the students and families from Bluewell and Brushfork into this new school community. I am looking forward to creating an environment where every student feels supported, valued, and ready to succeed. This is an exciting new chapter, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together!”

Timberwood Elementary is located on Airport Road.
