Pupils and staff at Kilsyth Primary School celebrated after achieving the prestigious Digital Schools Award and earning recognition as a Digital Mentoring School, highlighting their commitment to advancing digital education.
To mark their successes, the school hosted a Digital Schools Award ceremony along with pupils, staff, local politicians and parent council representatives.
At the ceremony, the Make It Happen Club representatives announced the App Design Challenge winner.
Louise Carberry was thrilled to see her idea for a ‘Save the Whale’ app turned into reality. Several other pupils, including Lucas Carlin, Levi Robinson, Robyn MacDonald, Maci Wilson, Serene Jones, Maizie Such, Kayley MacInnes, Finn Cox, and Lily Sherwin, also received certificates for their ideas.
A film screening by P7 pupils showcased their visit to Sky Studios, and the school’s digital leaders gave an entertaining presentation sharing the next steps in Kilsyth Primary’s digital journey.
Head Teacher Louise Duncan expressed her pride in the school’s achievements, saying: “This recognition as a Digital Mentoring School is a testament to our pupils and staff’s hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm.
“We are excited to celebrate this achievement with our community and share what’s next in our digital learning journey.”
Councillor Michael McBride, the council’s Convener of Education, also praised the school’s achievements: “Kilsyth Primary is a shining example of how schools can embrace digital innovation to enhance learning and teaching.
“The Digital Schools Award and Mentoring accreditation highlight the exceptional work taking place here, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for everyone at the school.”
