McFly’s Tom Fletcher has expressed his pride in Danny Jones following his I’m A Celeb triumph, yet admits he feels like he’s “letting the side down”.

The 39-year-old musician graced The One Show as a guest alongside Hollywood’s Kerry Washington and filmmaker Tyler Perry. While discussing his latest book with hosts Roman Kemp and Lauren Laverne, the conversation inevitably turned to his bandmate Danny’s recent crowning as King of the Jungle on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Tom didn’t miss the chance to highlight the reality show successes within McFly, stating: “Well, we have two in the band; Dougie was King of the Jungle as well, and Harry was the king of the dance floor.”

He shared his feelings of being the odd one out, admitting he’s the only member “letting the side down.”

As Lauren mentioned his wife Giovanna’s victory on I’m A Celeb in 2020, Tom chimed in: “And my wife won as well, yes, I’m literally the only one who hasn’t won a reality show. Thanks for reminding me,” reports Wales Online.

When probed about potentially joining a reality show himself, he responded: “Well, I can’t now, there would just be the most immense pressure on me to try and win it.”

He went on to say: “But to be honest, I love it when my friends are on the shows because it’s the highlight of my year. Sitting back and watching Danny was absolutely brilliant, it was the highlight of our year and he did so well. It was brilliant watching him on.”

Emotions ran high for Danny as he was announced the winner in the final episode of I’m A Celeb last week.

He praised his campmates’ “unbelievable” support, noting, “They made it so easy for us to get through the hard times.”

Danny also admitted that taking part in the show was challenging yet rewarding. He expressed: “I’ve had some of the hardest times I’ve ever had and some of the highest of highs.”

In a heartfelt thank you, he stated, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I gave my all in there, gave myself, and it’s a lovely feeling to be liked.”

The One Show airs Mondays-Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
