Fearne Cotton stunned her fans by announcing that her marriage with husband, Jesse Wood, is coming to an end.
The shock news comes only days after she had surgery to remove tumours. Posting on Instagram Stories she told her followers of her split. The presenter wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that | let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been, and will always be, our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”
Fearne Cotton and Jesse Wood tied the knot in a cute ceremony surrounded by their family and friends a decade ago, in 2014. The star recently revealed that tensions with the pair were high during the lockdown, reports the Mirror.
They have two children together, Rex and Honey. Jesse also has two older children, Arthur and Lola, from a previous relationship.
Podcast host and TV presenter Fearne had previously revealed that she had a benign tumour in her jaw. Sharing a video on Instagram last month, she said: “I’ve got a benign tumour just in my jaw here, below my ear, another little tiny one above it. I’m very grateful they’re benign but they do need to come out because they’re on a nerve.”
In an update following the surgery last week, Fearne explained the surgery had been a success. She said: “Operation went really well. Recovering and resting. Thanks so much for all the kind messages.”
However, she confessed she was “wiped out”. Fearne told her followers she was recovering well from the operation but was continuing to take it easy. She uploaded an image of herself chilling in pyjamas on her sofa as she flashed a thumbs up towards the camera. “Resting at home. Feel pretty wiped out but on the mend.
“Professor O’Flynn did the neatest job and was simply amazing at making me feel calm about the whole thing. Any good TV suggestions, get them in,” the star added as she revealed that was going to pass her recovery time by binging TV.”
Fearne had previously opened up on the demands of a healthy marriage. She met Jesse – who is the son of The Rollings Stones’ Ronnie Wood – in 2011 while she was enjoying a girls trip to Ibiza. The pair immediately became inseparable.
Fearne admitted in 2019 that “marriage takes work”. After penning an article in Red Magazine, fans had become concerned at the rocky relationship. But, she told the Daily Telegraph at the time: “‘I wrote that article to go what a load of s***’. Every marriage takes work . It doesn’t dilute our love or make our marriage any weaker, it actually makes it stronger because we’re willing to have those conversations.”
