Josie Gibson has revealed she is seeking help from This Morning therapists The Speakmans, amid her ongoing battle with arachnophobia.

The 39-year-old agreed to sign up to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year in the hope of overcoming her extreme fear of spiders, but this wasn’t the case for her.

Instead, the This Morning host was left suffering with back pain due to constantly being on edge around the unwelcomed creatures.

“I’m so terrified, I’ve got such a bad phobia of spiders. When I [came] out, I had a bad back where I was just so on edge all the time,” she shared.

“These spiders were coming out of everywhere, it was like being an arachnophobia, it was horrible.”(sic)

With her fear, Josie didn’t envy this year’s I’m A Celebrity cast, but enjoyed watching the “wholesome” series from the comfort of her home.

“I’m still how I was,” she said about her fear. “I’m trying to get some time in with the Speakmans just so I can overcome it.

“I really should’ve thought about it before I booked up, I thought it might help me cure my phobia of spiders, but a spider came out of my settee and I couldn’t sit on it for six weeks, it’s awful.”

Nik and Eva Speakman are professional therapists and regulars on This Morning, known for helping people overcome their fears and phobias.

“We’ve spoke about trying to do something about it, it’s just trying to get the time, see,” Josie added.

“But I do say, because the spiders are so big over there, they do make these ones [in the UK] look tiny.”

This evening, fans of the programme can get an insight into what the 2024 contestants have been up to since leaving camp on the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Coming Out show.

McFly’s very own Danny Jones was crowned king this year, with Coleen Rooney taking the runner-up spot and Reverend Richard Coles finishing in third place.

Reflecting on the most recent series, Josie expressed: “I thought it was the most beautiful, wholesome, lovely year.

“I couldn’t even pick a winner, I loved so many of them. I thought they were all great, they were really amazing!”.

Elsewhere, Josie has teamed up with First Bus, aiming to put a spotlight the important role buses have in promoting community bonds.

In her role, she has helped share the stories of resilience, dedication and community spirit of just a few everyday heroes, showing how the bus can help bring people together.
