Food and wellness TikTok creator Nicole wowed online people with her simple yet stunning Christmas charcuterie board idea.
Sharing a video of her ‘picky bits’ spread for Christmas Day, she included all the traditional elements such as meats, cheeses, nuts, and fruits.
A charcuterie board, traditionally French and served on a wooden or stone slab, is enjoyed as an appetiser and often eaten directly from the board. Nicole’s festive version has been hailed as ‘amazing’ and ‘stunning’ by viewers.
In her TikTok video, she demonstrates how to assemble the impressive selection, starting with crackers, cheese twists, and breadsticks, followed by an array of cheeses, grapes, strawberries, rose-shaped meats, dips, nuts, olives, and plenty of bread including focaccia.
Nicole introduces her video with the words: “If you’re looking for the perfect Christmas Day picky bits idea or (for) Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or New Year’s then I’ve got the one for you. I threw this together last year when I had friends over and it’s got big wow factor and it’s super simple.”
Commenters have echoed the sentiment, with one saying: “Wow biggest charcuterie board I’ve seen… amazing” and another suggesting: “You should definitely do this for a job! It looks amazing!”
One TikTok user was left in awe, commenting: “It’s like a work of art, that is wow,” while another claimed: “If you paid someone to do that for half the size of what you have done it would cost about £250+. This looks fantastic, well done! It looks so delicious and professional.”
When asked by a fellow user about the cost and where she sourced the products, Nicole revealed most items were from Aldi or Tesco, with the total spend being around £75 – a saving of over £150 compared to professional services.
Some viewers expressed concerns about the food going stale due to the inclusion of bread and crackers, to which Nicole responded she presents the board just before her guests arrive and it “lasts 2-3 hours”.
She also shared she lays down parchment paper on the table before placing any food. The viral TikTok video has since racked up over 317,000 views and more than 4,000 likes.
For those willing to invest some time and money this festive season, Nicole’s charcuterie board idea offers an easy way to cater for guests.
