Adam Idah admits a League Cup Final triumph over will provide the perfect launchpad for another silverware laden season for Celtic.

The Hoops hitman is refusing to look any further than a Hampden clash with the Light Blues and insists he’ll be happy to play a supporting role from the bench if it means claiming a winners medal. As all eyes turn to the national stadium, the 23-year-old is convinced success over their old rivals can be the start of another dominant domestic campaign a clean sweep of the trophies.

He said: “We want to win as many trophies as we can and we take each game as it comes. It’s a big challenge that we’re all looking forward to. It’ll get us off to a good start so t’s exciting. The game’s not finished yet. We want to get the job done first. It’s obviously what we want to go and do and get as many trophies at the end of the season as we can. It’ll be a big, big job for us. It’ll be a good start for us to go on throughout the season. It’s obviously important.”

Idah was a Hampden winning goal hero against Rangers in last season’s Scottish Cup Final and the Republic of Ireland international and he’s already consigned that glory moment to history as he aims to get his hands on another major winners medal.

He said: “It’s obviously an exciting challenge but I think from what happened before, I’m going to have to brush that past me now. It’s happened and it’s a new challenge for us. It’s going to be a tough game, a tough game again. Like I said, we’re all excited and looking forward to the game.”

It could be another wait for Idah to be launched into the action of Hoops boss opts to start with Kyogo but the former Norwich striker insists the collective will always come before his own personal ambitions and he’s backed himself to be a difference maker even if his appearance comes late in the contest.

He said: “I think that’s the mentality you’ve got to have. We’ve seen it a lot, especially last season, where there were times where I probably didn’t start many games and I came on and impacted the game. I think that’s the mindset I’ve got in my career and especially this season.

“It doesn’t matter whether I’m starting the game or coming off the bench, I think we all have the same goal in mind and we want to impact any game and just win. Regardless of if I start or not, I think everyone wants the same goal at the end of the day.

“We saw it the other day against Hibs and the goal Kyogo scored was outrageous. There’s not many players that could finish like that. Even his first touch, that chance, it’s not easy to do. He’s a magical player and it’s something we need in the team.”
