Kate Middleton appears to be taking style cues from the late Queen Elizabeth II, often seen utilising a fashion technique beloved by the monarch.
The Princess of Wales, who is set to become queen consort in the future, has been subtly altering her wardrobe in preparation for her role, as reported by OK! magazine.
The much-admired Queen was known for her striking colour-blocked outfits, choosing to wear one colour from head to toe, including her accessories, rather than mixing hues. In this vein, Kate was spotted at her annual Christmas Carol concert last year, dressed entirely in white.
While she has embraced the colour-coordination of her husband’s grandmother, Kate has put a more understated twist on it, often opting for whites and beiges, unlike the Queen’s preference for bright colours. “If I wore beige, nobody would know who I am,” the Queen once joked.
Her selection of vibrant clothing was not only for public visibility but also for security purposes. “It marks her out immediately of her security team. It’s a question of safety.,” said fashion editor Katherine Ormerod, reports the Mirror.
At the 2022 carol service hosted by Kate, she paid tribute to the Queen and her “incredible legacy” that has “deeply inspired many of us”.
One of the Christmas trees was adorned with Paddington Bear ornaments, a reference to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee skit.
The event featured a moving performance of Silent Night by Spice Girl Melanie C and Alfie Boe, and an appearance by Craig David.
Kate Middleton captivated onlookers with her stunning colour-blocked ensemble, donning a majestic burgundy coat and coordinating accessories earlier this week. Her fashion choices often carry deeper meanings, and this occasion may be no different.
A specialist recently explained to Forbes: “This vivid and cheery colour is associated with our primal survival and signifies strength and resilience. Subconsciously, red inspires and helps the wearer to take action and succeed. Like it or not, clothes and colours are connected to our subconscious.”
