A much-praised comedy series that has been hailed by fans as ‘perfect in every sense’ is now up for grabs to stream in full at no charge.

All episodes of the beloved cult classic Scrubs have landed on ITVX, joining the free streaming service catalogue. Previously, the hospital-based comedy was only accessible exclusively through Disney+, a premium subscription service with an attached fee.

Scrubs joins other American sitcom classics on ITV’s platform like The Middle, Parks and Recreation, and Everybody Hates Chris. Having originally run from 2001 to 2010, viewers can binge-watch every season, including the hotly debated ninth series which aimed to serve as a soft relaunch.

The series stars Zach Braff as J. D. and Donald Faison as Turk, following two newly qualified doctors navigating the twists and turns of their evolving medical vocations and personal bonds forged in the trenches, reports the Mirror. The principal cast features Sarah Chalke, Neil Flynn, John C McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Ken Jenkins playing Bob Kelso. Bill Lawrence conceived the series, drawing inspiration from his real-life doctor buddy, who also lent his name to the main character.

Lawrence’s creative surge continued, leading him to develop Cougar Town, Ted Lasso, and Shrinking. Scrubs continues to command a loyal fanbase and is poised to capture new viewers on ITVX, with one devotee summing it up as: “Perfect in every sense of the matter.”

One fan, expressing their admiration online, said: “One of the very few comedy shows the last couple of decades with actual laugh out loud moments. And the occasional gut punch. Brilliant.”

Echoing similar sentiments, another fan shared their thoughts online: “One of the greatest shows ever made. Often overlooked I think because most people might have only caught an episode or so and not truly followed it. But one of the best shows to go start to finish with. I’ve did this like seven or eight times now. Always just as enjoyable as the last time. When this show ended it was one of the few times I felt lost and upset about things.”

For aficionados who cherish the series, there’s a compelling reason to delve back in, even if they’ve never tuned in to the watch-along podcast. In the midst of the Covid pandemic, Zach Braff and Donald Faison, stars of the show, launched Fake Doctors Real Friends, a podcast where they review each episode weekly, providing anecdotes and recollections from their time on set.

Scrubs is streaming on ITVX and Disney+.
