Strictly Come Dancing fans will see one person follow in Ellie Leach’s footsteps and become the next champion of the BBC show this evening.
After weeks of sashaying across the dancefloor, either JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri, Sarah Hadland or Chris McCausland will take home the trophy.
Although JLS star JB is leading the leaderboard from the semi-finals, with a total of 79 for his two routines, it’s Chris McCausland who is the favourite to win the show.
According to bookies BetMGM, Chris’ odds of winning the entire competition stand at 1/18. UK Director at BetMGM, Sam Behar, said: “The betting suggests it would be a huge shock if Chris McCausland didn’t take home the Glitterball Trophy.
“He might not have scored the highest with the judges in the semi-finals but that hasn’t perturbed punters as the comedian is just 1/18 to emerge victorious. JB Gill is 10/1, Sarah Hadland 20/1 and Tasha Ghouri 25/1 – but the betting does suggest it’s a one-horse race.”
During the grand final, Tasha Ghouri was given a surprise by Claudia Winkleman after one of her routines. Being given the perfect score of 40, Claudia said: “I have to ask you about your family because they’ve supported you from all over the world, tell me about them.”
Tasha replied: “My dad, my mum, Andrew, everyone. Thank you for supporting me. I’m so lucky to have such a great circle around me who truly love me, uplift me, keep me strong, keep me going and keep me motivated. This is for them.”
As the contestant also took a moment out to thank people watching at home, Claudia asked Tasha to speak about her brother. Admitting he was currently in Australia, Tasha said he was probably having the time of his life.
She said: “My brother is just so supportive, I really miss him. He can’t be here today, but I miss him a lot.” However, the BBC host revealed her brother had secretly got a light and was with them in the studio.
Claudia said: “He wanted to watch you dance tonight, here he is.” The contestant was visibly shocked as she threw her hand over her mouth.
While her brother walked through the pros, he embraced Tasha in a huge hug. Emotional at the unexpected reunion, Tasha was in tears as her brother praised her.
He said: “She’s just, you can’t describe it. Watching your little sister dance and following your dreams. You’re just so special.”
Tasha’s brother told her he wouldn’t miss seeing her in the final for the world as the pair continued to hug. Ahead of the final, Tasha spoke to the BBC about finding herself in with the chance of raising the Glitterball.
She said: “It is going to be lovely to finish off the whole journey with Aljaz in the final. Every week has been so special, but to be able to be in the final and experience it with Aljaz is so magical and amazing. One thousand percent this is a career highlight – it’s the biggest highlight of my whole life.”
