Amanda Holden opened up about her “first love” as she shared a personal update on her Heart Radio breakfast show.

The TV legend has been married to record producer Chris Hughes, 52, since 2008 after meeting him in the US, with the couple sharing two daughters, Lexi and Hollie.

However, before tying the knot with Chris, Amanda first married comedian Les Dennis in June 1995 before the couple separated temporarily in 2000. Holden and Dennis separated permanently in December 2002 and divorced in 2003.

Speaking on Friday morning’s Heart Radio breakfast show alongside stand-in presenter Jason King, better known as JK, Amanda looked back at her dating history while speaking to Leeds University student Lilly.

JK described Leeds as a “good party university” before Amanda declared that her “first love” was from the Yorkshire city. JK playfully asked if the relationship was a “good time”, with Amanda quickly shutting the conversation down.

She said: “My first love was from Leeds. Yeah, let’s just move on, it’s Lilly’s call, it’s Lilly’s call.”

Amanda had previously told listeners how she had broken a promise to her husband after telling him she wouldn’t get too drunk at the radio station’s Christmas party on Thursday evening.

Vowing to heed the request from her spouse, Amanda said: “I promised my husband,” only to add: “He said, ‘don’t get too battered Mandy’. I’ll do my best.”

Despite this promise, Amanda quipped that sticking to her husband’s caution was unlikely, as she quipped: “It’s the season to get battered!”.

However, speaking to listeners on Friday, Amanda confessed that she had in fact had slightly too much to drink at the party, explaining that everyone in the studio had a bit of a “Heart hangover”.

JK quickly quipped back that not everyone was nursing a sore head, leaving a shocked Amanda to reply: “Just me? Why am I the only one? Literally everyone looked at me in surprise there.”

Amanda then said that Chris was forced to “carry her up the stairs” when she returned home in the evening before telling JK that she was drinking fizzy water and a coffee to “burp her way out of” the hangover.

During Thursday’s show, the Liverpool-born presenter reminisced about her first Christmas party with her colleagues, which ended with an unfortunate tumble down some stairs at a restaurant.

After her co-host JK humorously claimed he was dressed like the Milk Tray man, Amanda replied: “That’s good, because you probably will be throwing two people over your shoulders to get us out of a restaurant later.”

She humorously recounted: “I remember my first year at Heart we went for the Christmas party and we went for drinks and I fell down the last three steps of the restaurant, but landed on my knees.

“And, I just put the prayer sign up and said to the waiter, ‘thank you so much for a lovely evening’, and walked out like nothing had happened. That is how you style it [out], that’s it!”.
