LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) – Three hikers were rescued after falling off an icy trail on Mount Charleston in Nevada.

Las Vegas Metro Police said the hikers were coming down a trail when one slipped on ice and slid into another hiker causing them both to go down the steep edge of the mountain.

The first hiker collided with a tree after falling 100 feet below the trail, causing a severe leg injury.

The second hiker continued sliding another 100 feet before coming to rest on a ledge, without any major injuries. The third hiker called 911 while above on the trail.

All three hikers were rescued by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department’s Search and Rescue team.
