Shoppers in Edinburgh were left outraged after an entitled driver helped themselves to four parking bays in a busy Tesco car park.

An image shared online shows a Hyundai positioned in the middle of four parking bays at the Musselburgh branch, leaving no room for other vehicles. The parking issue comes during an already congested period, as Christmas displays have reduced the number of available spaces in the car park.

A local resident who witnessed the incident spoke to Edinburgh Live, expressing their frustration: “I thought that driver was being incredibly selfish. The car park is so busy these days with Christmas just around the corner, and with fewer spaces available, someone parking across four spaces just seems unfair.”

The individual added: “I’m not the best at parking myself, but if I couldn’t manage to park properly, I wouldn’t leave my car like that. I’d rather walk a little further than inconvenience so many people.”

After spotting the poorly parked car, the resident shared their frustration on social media, sparking a wave of reactions from locals.

In their post, the resident noted that some commenters claimed it wasn’t the first time they had seen this particular car parked inconsiderately. Speculation arose about whether the driver might have been trying to use disabled or family parking spaces, which are often in high demand.

The post quickly gained attention, with other residents voicing their annoyance. One person commented: “Yes, name and shame in future—although people like this just don’t care about others.”

Another suggested a tongue-in-cheek solution: “Be a shame if two drivers parked sideways in front and behind them.”

Others chimed in with humorous remarks. One wrote: “Maybe someone should buy them a colouring book for Christmas since they clearly struggle with staying inside the lines.” Another joked: “Looks like they got their driving license out of a cereal box.”
