CalMac have cancelled all sailings between Arran and the mainland following a day of adverse weather.

Sailings this morning (Monday, December 16) had been cancelled from both Ardrossan and Troon to Brodick following strong winds.

The ferry operator took the decision to cancel all remaining sailings as weather conditions had not improved.

Both routes are at risk of cancellations tomorrow (Tuesday, December 17) as the “strong winds and sea swell conditions” are set to continue.

As a result of the MV Isle of Arran berthing in Brodick overnight, the 7am sailing from Ardrossan tomorrow has already been cancelled.

Of the sailings from Ardrossan to Brodick, CalMac said: “Due to strong winds, the remainder of today’s sailings are cancelled.

“Due to the vessel berthing overnight in Brodick, the 7am sailing from Ardrossan is cancelled.

“Due to forecast strong winds, all remaining sailings are liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.”

Of the sailings from Troon to Brodick, CalMac said: “Due to adverse weather in relation to strong winds and sea swell conditions, all sailings on this route have been cancelled.

“Due to forecast of adverse weather in relation to strong winds and sea swell conditions, this service is liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.”
