A Scots street was rocked by a ‘loud explosion’ after a car burst into flames.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the blaze on Cameron Drive in Auchinleck, Ayrshire, just before 6pm tonight, Monday, December 16.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage and no injuries have been reported from the incident. Footage shows flames ripping through the front end of the vehicle.
Speaking to the Record, one local man explained how the street was rocked by a loud explosion.
He said: “We live in this street and the area is getting pretty shocking. This is the second time a vehicle has went on fire within one week. My daughter noticed the flames and I went outside to see what was happening and noticed the flames. As I was standing there there was a loud explosion from within the car.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We received reports of a vehicle on fire at Cameron Drive in Auchinleck tonight, Monday, December 16, at around 5:58pm and sent two appliances.
“They arrived at the scene at 6:10pm and extinguished the blaze. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage. No injuries were reported.”
