A man has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle on a busy road in Motherwell.

Officers from Police Scotland were alerted to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Windmillhill Street in the town at around 7.10pm on Monday, December 16.

The man has been taken to hospital but no more information is available on his condition at this stage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Windmillhill Street in Motherwell is closed following a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle which happened around 7.10pm. The male pedestrian has been taken to hospital.

Officers remain at the scene and drivers are urged to use an alternative route.”
