A mum who has been dubbed “Britain’s most hated woman” has infuriated her neighbours after spending £2,000 on Christmas decorations.
Carla Bellucci’s brash way of life often causes friction with locals in her tiny village in Hertfordshire — and the former glamour model certainly doesn’t change her ways during the festive period.
The 42-year-old said all she wants to do is “make people happy”, but admitted that not all of her neighbours have had that reaction.
Carla said: “I anger everyone 24/7 – especially at Christmas. No one can top my house, I’m the queen of the holiday seasons. It takes me a full day to put everything up and switched on. I love seeing the kids’ faces when they walk past, it’s priceless.”
She continued: “The minute I stop enjoying it is when I’ll stop; something my neighbours will be very happy about. Bunch of scrooges – they need to stop.
“They’re not big fans of any of my holiday displays; they always think it’s ridiculous and so over-the-top. I’ve seen them over the past few days walking past my house, staring, tutting and rolling their eyes – it’s clear they’re not very happy about it.”
Carla doesn’t see an issue with the decorations, and says people “get the hump” just because it’s her house. She added: “I’m not hurting anyone, so the Karens’ opinions don’t matter, why would I care what they have to say? I’m living my best life.”
She previously angered her neighbours with £5,000 worth of Halloween decorations and goes one step further at Christmas, picking a theme for each room of her house.
Her decorations include giant candy canes, life-size polar bears and reindeers. However this year, a huge garage leak ruined the majority of their outdoor decorations – so she’s keeping it minimal to the public. She claims that hasn’t stopped her neighbours getting angry, though.
“It’s all talk and no action with them to be honest,” she said. “I don’t comment on their tack so they shouldn’t on mine. I’m sure they all gossip on the local group page, but I’m banned from that.”
Carla also claimed the neighbours have “secret meetings” behind her back. She said doesn’t go anywhere local “like the pub” because she “can’t be bothered with the backlash”.
