It was a day of heartbreak for the Rangers fans at Hampden as Celtic lifted silverware once again.

And Celtic TV didn’t miss the chance to put the boot into their rivals after a thrilling encounter at the national stadium. The Hoops brought the Premier Sports Cup back to the green half of Glasgow after Rangers pushed Brendan Rodgers ‘ men all the way in a dramatic 3-3 draw after 120 minutes – with the Light Blues twice coming from behind before Ridvan Yilmaz saw Kasper Schmeichel deny him in the penalty shoot-out to claim the silverware.

As Callum McGregor prepared to lift another trophy after continuing his unbeaten record in cup finals, the Gers fans had seen enough as they flooded out of the stands in Mount Florida while James Tavernier and his teammates collected their runners-up medals. As skipper Tavernier and boss Philippe Clement were seen watching the Celtic captain lift the silverware the Rangers fans weren’t hanging about.

That was lapped up by Celtic TV commentator Gerry McCulloch who couldn’t resist a pot shot. As Tavernier led the Rangers teammates in the post-match formalities, he said: “It’s good to see that the Rangers supporters have waited behind to cheer them. They’re all dressed as seats now.“
