Stephen Robinson revealed St Mirren’s dramatic 3-2 win over St Johnstone could have come at a cost.
The Buddies boss was this morning due to assess the wounded at the club’s Ralston training ground after Saturday’s Premiership thriller.
Captain Mark O’Hara is giving the most cause for concern after he suffered a thigh strain when taking the penalty which was saved by Perth Saints custodian Josh Rae but Roland Idowu converted the re-take.
It’s feared the 29-year-old is enduring a recurrence of an issue which has sidelined him a number of times in the past.
Central defender Richard Taylor was carried off after his leg went numb when he landed awkwardly.
Meanwhile, wing-back Scott Tanser has a nerve issue with his back/hamstring, and needed replaced, while Northern Irish winger Conor McMenamin was troubled by his back.
“We think it’s a bad one with Mark,” the manager added. “We think it could be the same problem as last season.
“It’s a real blow as I thought he was excellent. He’s gutted. He’s delighted we won but his injury is a recurring problem.
“We will have to assess Richard but we are hoping it isn’t as serious as it appeared. You can’t take chances in that situation.”
Robbo instructed Idowu to take the second spot-kick nine minutes into added-on time at McDiarmid Park – but decided he would look the other way.
“I couldn’t watch the penalty,” he added. “I just watched the fans. I watched the first one and I thought I must be a jinx so I only saw it on a replay. Roland showed real composure to win it.
“We showed real character to keep going and the subs made a big impact. To be in the top six after all the problems we’ve had is really pleasing and I credit the players.”
